My name is Johannes Kutterer. I have studied archaeology, computer science and geology at the University of Tübingen (Germany). At the moment I’m writing my PhD about the Bronze Age site HLO1 in the Wadi al-Hilo (Sharjah, United Arab Emirates).
For more than 10 years I’ve been working actively on integrating computer science into archaeology. My focus lies on databases for documentation, analyses and presentation of results, and more general on improving the workflow in research projects with the help of customized hardware and software.
Since I am a big fan of Open Source Software and the Open Source community, I try to use Open Source software whenever possible.
In this blog I am going to write about news concerning my work and projects in Archaeology and Informatics.
